1.Controller and data collected

The controller is Aurelia Legal, Rue de Bourg 20, 1003 Lausanne, Switzerland (telephone +41 21 331 5280, e-mail office@aurelia.ch). Through the contact form on aurelia.ch we collect the name, e-mail address, telephone number and the description of the matter that you provide, together with technical data such as IP address, browser type and the date and time of the request that our server records automatically.

2.Purposes and legal bases

We process your data to answer enquiries, to prepare and perform an engagement, to keep the records required of a law firm and to maintain the security of the website. The legal bases are the performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, compliance with legal retention duties and, for optional cookies, your consent. Where the GDPR applies to an EU client, these bases are read together with Articles 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f) of that regulation.

3.Storage and disclosure

Enquiry data is kept for up to twelve months where no engagement follows, while files of accepted matters are retained for ten years in line with Swiss professional and accounting rules. Data is disclosed only to our hosting and e-mail providers acting on our written instructions, and to courts, authorities or notaries where a matter or the law requires it; we never sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising, and any transfer abroad is made only to countries offering adequate protection or under standard contractual clauses.

4.Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, the restriction of its processing, a copy in a portable format, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest or withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future. Write to office@aurelia.ch and we will respond within thirty days; if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully you may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or, for EU clients, your national supervisory authority.
